Day-Wise Itinerary

Day 1 Chandigarh to Jaon (Hotel/Home Stay)

In early morning we will pick you from chandigarh airport/railwaystation/isbt.  Begin your 270-280km journey with a scenic drive from Chandigarh to jaon base camp.  With a wonderful scenic view of Shimla,Narkanda,Satluj valley,Rampur Bushahr,Nirmand the holy village.  In afternoon we will go to DEVDHANK GUFFA MANDIR where Lord Shiva took refuge. This Guffa is considered mystical and divine, with local  believing it is connected by spiritual tunnels to Shrikhand Kailash.  

Lord Shiva manifested on the mountain top in the form of the colossal, naturally formed rock Shivlingam.  Jaon, the gateway to the Shrikhand Mahadev trek. On arrival, check into our hotel or homestay, relax, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Jaon → Singh Gad → Barati Nala → Thati beel→ Thachdu  

In early morning we will start our spiritual journey through lush green forests and mountain trails,river crossing(Barati Nala) towards the thati beel(famous for dense forest) and then thachdu. Reach Thachdu by afternoon and settle into the campsite surrounded by pine trees and fresh mountain air.

Thachdu → Kali Ghati → Bheem Talai → Kunsa Valley → Bhimdwari  

  • The day early morning starts with a climb to Kali Ghati by crossing Dandi Dhar, a key viewpoint on the route, after which the views open up.
  • The descent from Kali Ghati is followed by crossing meadows and gentle slopes to reach Bhim Talai(Bhim pond) and Kunsha (famous for medicinal plants) then Bhimdwari.
  • Bhimdwari is an expensive, beautiful alpine meadow, named after Bheema of the Mahabharata. It is the final major camp before the summit attempt.

Bhimdwari → Parvati Bagh→ Nayan Sarovar → Bhim Shila → Summit → Return  

Start Time: Begin the trek very early, ideally between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM.  

The trail passes through the lush, high-altitude flower fields of Parvati Bagh which is known for the rare Brahma Kamal flower.You will reach the sacred Nain Sarovar a holy lake where pilgrims takes bath. The final ascent is the most challenging section, often involving trekking over glacial moraine, rocky terrain, and sometimes snow patches. The air is very thin. 

MUKH DARSHAN OF SHIVLINGA
After the Darshan (viewing of the Shivling), immediately begin the long descent back to the Bhimdwari campsite and take rest.

Today is an easy and restful day compared to Day 4.

Descend back to Thachdu through the same mesmerising trails. Enjoy a relaxed evening at the campsite with stunning views of the mountains. Take your time to enjoy the views you might have missed during the ascen

On the 6th day, descend from the trek to Jaon village, taking in the last glimpses of the mountains.

Upon arrival, settle into our cozy hotel/homestay where you can freshen up with a relaxing shower. End the day with a peaceful rest, allowing your body to recover and your mind to cherish the unforgettable journey.

On the final day, after breakfast depart from Jaon and begin your journey back to Shimla/Chandigarh, carrying with you not just memories but the divine blessings of Lord Shiva. As you leave the sacred mountains, take along a sense of peace, spiritual fulfillment, and an experience that will stay with you forever. (Note: Lunch is not included in last day.) 

Best Time To Visit

The ideal time for the Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra is during July and August when the trekking routes are open and weather conditions are suitable for the pilgrimage.

  • If the trek extends due to weather or road conditions, additional charges of ₹2,000 per person per day will apply.
